It is important to realize that you are not the only one suffering. It's also important to realize that there are ways to overcome disappointments. When in this state, do not make major decisions in life. Our mind is often clouded during these times and it's best if we make the emotion fade before we decide. So to help you overcoming a disappointment, here are a few tips based on my personal experiences.
|
Redirect your efforts - Maybe you did all you can and you did great. However, your efforts were misdirected. You were focus on something but that is not what was needed to be done. This is a hard pill to swallow, but if you open your mind and not let your emotions affect you then you'll do a lot better next time. Accept that you did wrong now and promise yourself to do better next time.
Lower your expectations - High expectations on yourself or other people is sure to put you in a lot of disappointment. You try to measure the people around you based on your standards, but these people can never be like you. If you watched the movie, The Matrix... People have their own world... We live in our own way of perceiving things. You have to understand that what's right for you may not be right for the other person. However, people improve. Just lower your expectations and see every good in every person. Acknowledge the little things that they are doing right and less on what they're doing wrong.
So I hope these things somehow helps you in improving your life. I wish you all the best in bridging good relationships with your family, friends and colleagues.

I just went through Allan's list of nominations and it's just so amazing how you guys included me in your list. You definitely rock! :)
I've been through a lot of disappointments myself, I might have disappointment others on the way but these little experiences left me a little bruised and bitten, but definitely stronger.
I keep telling myself not to expect too much so I won't get disappointed badly, it usually works! :)
