Joining the Yakezie Alexa Ranking Challenge

I learned about the Yekezie and their  Alexa Ranking Challenge from Invest It Wisely, a blog that I just happen to stumble upon. This is not the first time I've joined such initiative, in fact I recently joined the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010 Writing Project. It seems to work the same way as the latter and you kind find the official rules here.

Why am I joining this project? Here are a few reasons.

1. Because this is a chance to interact with fellow personal finance bloggers. I need people with the same mindset to comment on the posts I made. I cannot assume that all I post here are correct and I could be misdirecting my readers. I need people to challenge my ideas.
2. I need to have a commitment so I will always be motivated to finish what I've sworn to do. To share my personal experiences about personal finance and business
3. I also believe in selfless promotion like the Yakezie challenge is promoting now. See my post about helping people achieve their dreams.
4. I just believe that the challenge would improve my writing and spread my influence.

The Yakezie is a one of the world's largest network of personal finance bloggers. It's always good to network with like-minded individuals as you are likely to learn more and faster this way. So what are the benefits of joining this challenge?

1. More people reading your blog (hopefully)
2. More friends online
3. Chances of advertisers finding you (not really concerned much about this yet)
4. More sites linking in to your blog = more traffic
5. Increase your Alex ranking

I'm starting out at Alexa rank 897,809. To be honest though, I don't understand Alexa and didn't pay much attention to it. I just want to get connected to more people. But it's always nice to have something to look forward to so I'm taking the challenge and gonna try to break to alexa rank 200,000. Alright, I will do my best to post consistently every week and read other blogs and link to them!
