Stainless lonnganisa is a book related to the life story of Bob Ong while writing his previous books. I heard about him a few years ago until but I never read about him until me and my wife took a vacation I got bored and asked my wife what the book stainless longganisa was all about and she said it wasn't all joke but also contained some real life story of Bob Ong. I borrowed the book and read...

My first impression was that... It was entrepreneurial. True, he uses jokes and have an informal style in writing but I saw so much of myself from the words he wrote. Note what I said, the words he wrote and not him. The words are written in Filipino (mostly) which makes it even easier to relate. Even though I mentioned that I think the book was entrepreneurial, the book has nothing to do with business or finance... Well I guess if you're looking into venturing in publication then it could offer some help or information. But moreover, it's just telling a part of the story of Bob Ong's life.

In the book he expressed the hardships and successes he had before publishing his first book. I especially liked his reasoning as to why he didn't have to post his picture on his website because how he looked has nothing to do with what he writes or what he has to say and how he tries to stay with his principles.

Bob Ong's stainless longganisa inspired me to maintain the personal touch in this blog. To stay to my principles, and adjust my opinions as I learn more in life. Stainless longganisa is also about the imperfections in life, especially in every Filipino's life.

I noticed that Bob Ong seem to refuse to be bent by other people's perception of him, just as I think  any people shouldn't be. We shouldn't be boxed by other people's thinking or what other people think we should be. This is different than rebellion or self pity where we blame other people for what became of us.

Ok, that now makes me a believer and follower. By the time I post this I've probably already bought 2 or 3 more of his other books. Stainless Longganisa is a fun, entertaining and inspiring book full of lessons about the realities of life in Philippine set-up that shows that quitters are not rewarded in this country and that perseverance will pay off as long as you keep yourself focused towards your goal, be consistent and positive.
