But a few years after, I realized that he's right. He said I needed at least 100,000 pesos to start a business. I partly agree and disagree for my own reasons. But wasn't it during a vacation that Henry Sy, the multi-billion owner of SM Malls here in the Philippines discovered the idea of a mall?
I don't mean that you should go for a vacation in search of ideas but rather to make things in your mind free-flowing just like how I tried to describe things about creativity on one of my previous posts.
I would say that taking a vacation is the emotional side of life. Just as there is also a logical side like saving money. And life is not just logical, it's also emotional so we should balance things out.
There are times especially when you've worked so hard that you will feel tired, and think that your efforts have done so very little results. During these times, I recommend that you stop and take a break because it can't always be all sunshine each day.
When you take a break, it's also important that you take a time alone to introspect and to retrospect. Speak to yourself what have you done right and what have you done wrong? Is it right to keep moving forward in the direction you're going on right now, should you start all over or just change directions? Think, and re-strategize.
Aside from this it may also be important to ask yourself "why are you doing what you are doing"? Because the "why" will always overcome the "how".
