Thanks for the visit! The advise I can give are...

1. It doesn't take a lot of capital on the web. Be willing to sacrifice a few night out with friends and just get things running. I needed to learn things through trial and error and the first year has really been just break-even for me. If I don't make any more improvements that would take money then I can just concentrate on making profit on the second year.

2. The easiest way really to know how things work online is to get out there and try.

3. Get a ".com", really it will be all worth it in the long run.

4. Make strong connections over the internet. Very few survive alone.

5. You have to be consistent and continue believing that you will someday hit a jackpot. But you need to have a clear picture of what that jackpot is like attracting an advertiser or a post of yours bringing in rivers of visitors. In short, it has to be aligned with a plan.

Btw, I don't claim that I'm successful yet, there's definitely a lot of people out there who have done more than I have. And these are the people you need to get connected with.

Hey Tim! Great article on outsourcing! I haven't really seen the other end of outsourcing yet but I can understand how the potential problems you mentioned can cause lots of headaches to the business owner.

By the way, the web designer you got is great! Your site looks so neat and easy to the eyes. Now, I know who to ask when I decide to redesign my blog or create new ones.
